July 2006: Inaugural exhibition of the renovated National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC which included the preliminary study executed in charcoal and pastel for the oil portrait of Maxine Singer. The NPG acquired the study for their permanent collection in 2005 and it is reproduced in Portrait of a Nation, Highlights from the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Merrell Publishers Limited 2006.
